Where a site network leaks revenue, in dollars
Money gets lost at four points between first sponsor contact and First Patient In. Run a preset first; the value of fixing each leak updates as you type. To enter your own numbers we ask for your name, work email and company, once. Your numbers themselves stay in your browser. The defaults are starting points, not claims.
Run it with your own numbers

Studies won per year = bids × win rate = . Bookings today about .
Leak 1: never invited
Studies you could have run but never heard about. Biggest for small networks, smallest for the ones sponsors already call.
Extra invitations × win rate × study value
What TrialCurrent does about it. Discover watches ClinicalTrials.gov and sponsor activity for studies that fit your sites and drops them into the pipeline before the invitation arrives. See the sales platform.
Leak 2: invited and lost
The questionnaire sits in an inbox, the proposal takes a week, the wrong person answers with the wrong numbers. Usually the largest leak.
Bids × improvement points × study value
What TrialCurrent does about it. A feasibility queue that shows the Feasibility team every new request each morning, protocol extraction that fills the questionnaire from the document, drafted answers with their sources, and a proposal builder that prices the bid. See site feasibility software.
Leak 3: won by the wrong site, or overpromised
Commit to 12 patients, deliver 4, and the sponsor quietly stops inviting you.
Won studies × reduction × shortfall × value, plus sponsors saved × studies per sponsor × value
What TrialCurrent does about it. Site selection scores every site in your network against the study, names the ones to choose and the enrollment they can commit, and keeps each site’s delivery history against its past commitments. See site selection for networks.
Leak 4: awarded and stalled
Startup dies on an expired GCP certificate, a budget nobody finished, a contract nobody is chasing, while the staff hired for the study sit on payroll.
Won studies × (days ÷ 30) × monthly waiting cost. Per-patient revenue also starts sooner on every study, which this number leaves out.
What TrialCurrent does about it. Startup milestones from CDA to activation with a first-patient forecast that names the step holding it up and who owns it, a per-site regulatory binder, and 30/60/90-day flags on expiring CVs, licenses and GCP certificates. See study startup tracking.
How to use it
Start with the preset closest to your network, then replace the six numbers at the top with your own. Leave the four improvement levers where they are, or set them to what you'd believe. Two points of win rate on 200 bids at $400,000 a study is $1.6 million a year, and that's your number, not ours.
The calculator counts bookings, not margin, and it does not model patient enrollment performance. It covers the sales and startup side only. Leak 4 is the safest line to rely on: it's days multiplied by payroll. Leaks 2 and 3 depend on how much faster and more accurately your feasibility and site-selection work gets, so treat them as levers you set, not promises we make.
Where TrialCurrent comes in: the feasibility queue, protocol extraction and proposal builder work on Leak 2, site selection with delivery history on Leak 3, and startup milestones with document expiry flags on Leak 4. You can also score a single study with the free bid / no-bid scorecard.
